D.P. McDonogh, rider of Wo Wo Never, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right all the way up the straight and used his whip for corrective measures as his mount was hanging right
The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.P. McDonogh, rider of Wo Wo Never, concerning his use of the whip in the home straight of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation, however he stated that the bit had gone through the horses mouth and that two strikes were for corrective measures. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D.P. McDonogh was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for two racedays
