Permission was given for Maxi Boy (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only and for Top Secret (GB) to go early to post.
The Stewards noted that upon leaving the stalls, Ripp Orf (IRE), drawn 1, which finished unplaced, threw its head up twice in the air resulting in the gelding being slow into stride.
Nicola Currie, the rider of the winner, Top Secret (GB), was suspended for 2 days for using her whip above the permitted level from approximately 1½ furlongs out.
The performance of Cliffs Of Capri (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, beaten by 7 lengths, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Jamie Osborne could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance on this occasion other than Cliffs Of Capri (GB) was slowly away.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Rob Hornby reported that Mystery Smiles (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
