Katie Davis, the rider of Canvas (GB), drawn 4, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in her horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Davis explained that the blind was tucked in tightly meaning she was unable to remove it on the first attempt; her explanation was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend turning into the home straight involving the winner, Tenability (GB), ridden by Delphine Santiago, and Canvas (GB), placed seventh, ridden by Katie Davis.
Santiago was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing her mount to shift right-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear, causing Davis to take a check against the rail.
