Permission was given for Many Men (GB) and Bonnie Moon (FR) to wear a red hood to post.
Rounding the first bend, Deep Water Bay (GB), placed sixth, shifted sharply right-handed whilst racing greenly on the approach to the crossing, impeding Last Galileo (IRE), unplaced, which was taken wider off its intended line.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Deep Water Bay (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference near the half furlong marker, involving the winner, Pole Star (GB), ridden by Connor Beasley and Novelista (IRE), placed second, ridden by Andrew Mullen.
It was established that just inside the final half furlong Pole Star (GB) had edged right-handed briefly inconveniencing Novelista (IRE) which was shifted slightly off its intended line; The Stewards after considering the short head margin and the relatively minor nature of the interference, were unable to be satisfied that, with an uninterrupted run to the line Novelista (IRE) would have finished in front of Pole Star (GB) and therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The interference was found to be accidental as Pole Star (GB) had moved quickly right-handed away from the whip without warning, thereby causing interference to Novelista (IRE).
