Permission was given for Qazaq (FR) to go early to post and for Hawksbill (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Upon exiting the backstraight, a free running Hawksbill (GB), placed second, shifted right-handed, carrying God Of War (GB), placed fourth, off its intended racing line which in turn moved Padishakh (FR), unplaced, off its intended racing line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Hawksbill (GB).
The winner, Sir Paul Ramsey (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Goodwood on 31 July 2025 where the gelding finished thirteenth of fifteen runners, beaten by 18¾ lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Charlie Johnston could offer no explanation for Sir Paul Ramsey (GB)’s improved form.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Warren Fentiman reported that Intinso (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly.
