An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Saxonia (GB), ridden by Billy Loughnane, and Hale End (IRE), placed second, ridden by Connor Beasley.
The Stewards considered that the interference was accidental and had not improved Saxonia (GB)’s placing as the gelding edged slightly left-handed before being corrected, causing it to make brief and very light contact with Hale End (IRE).
Being satisfied that the interference occurred in only the final two strides before the line and that Hale End (IRE) suffered no discernible loss of ground or momentum to be beaten by a nose, the Stewards ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
