Via Blanca (GB) was very fractious in the preliminaries and kicked the railings in the Parade Ring.
Having been checked at the start by the Veterinary Surgeon, the filly was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held into the start of this race and the participation of Persian Blue (USA), drawn 7, ridden by Sean Dylan Bowen.
The rider and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
As Persian Blue (USA) had gone down and attempted to go under the stalls gate prior to the start being effected and with the Starter unaware, the Stewards considered that the filly was therefore prevented from starting on equal terms and ordered that Persian Blue (USA) be declared a non-runner.
