Sound Of Iona (GB) ran yesterday, 17 August 2022, at York finishing fifth of seventeen runners.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer, the mare was deemed fit to race.
Permission was given for Stunning Beauty (IRE) to go early to post; for Eidikos (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only and for No Nay Nicki (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
Stunning Beauty (IRE) unseated Frankie Dettori on the way to the start.
Having been checked by the Doctor at the start, Dettori was deemed fit to ride.
Amie Waugh, the rider of Sound Of Iona (GB), drawn 12, and William Buick, the rider of Eidikos (GB), drawn 7, both appeared to be slightly slow removing the blindfolds.
Being satisfied that both horses jumped on terms with the other runners, no further action was taken.
The performance of Queen Aminatu (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
William Haggas explained that the filly was outpaced on the Good (Good to Firm in Places) going and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Queen Aminatu (GB) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
