THE BOOK TO STAY- WOLVERHAMPTON HOLIDAY INN HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Sands of Seve (GB) to wear a red hood to the start, go early to post and be mounted in the chute.
Viennetta (GB), trained by Michael Blake, failed to enter the Parade Ring due to difficulties saddling the filly.
Leaving the stalls, Havin A Flyer (GB), placed third, jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed, making contact with Viennetta (GB), unplaced, which had also jumped awkwardly, resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Havin A Flyer (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one furlong after the start when the winner, A Lott Of Kane (IRE), ridden by Joey Haynes, interfered with Sands of Seve (GB), unplaced, ridden by Darragh Keenan.
Haynes was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge left-handed when insufficiently clear of a free-running Sands of Seve (GB), causing Keenan to check for a number of strides.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after turning into the home straight involving My Mate Mackley (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Pat Cosgrave; Tommie's Angel (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Kaiya Fraser; and Viennetta (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carson.
Cosgrave was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he angled his mount right-handed off the bend when insufficiently clear of Tommie's Angel (IRE), carrying that filly off her intended line, which in turn caused it to give a significant bump to Viennetta (GB).
Passing the 1 furlong marker, My Mate Mackley (GB), placed fourth, shifted right-handed whilst racing greenly, inconveniencing Tommie's Angel (IRE), placed fifth, which was carried off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of My Mate Mackley (GB).
Following the race, Taylor Fisher reported that Runamara (IRE), placed second, stumbled leaving the stalls and Silvestre De Sousa reported that Princess Of Limnos (GB), unplaced, hung both ways.
