THE VIRGIN BET MARES' HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) Permission was given for Mermaids Cave (IRE) and Mary (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the second last hurdle, involving Hope Rising (IRE), placed third, ridden by Gavin Sheehan and Mary (IRE), placed second, ridden by Charlie Todd.
The riders were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, after which it was found that no interference had taken place as Sheehan had shifted slightly right-handed at the same time as Todd’s mount appeared to look to run out at the wing.
