THE DOWNLOAD THE RACEDAY READY APP APPRENTICE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Al Baahy (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Mason Paetel, Shielas Well (IRE) , placed third, ridden by Toby Moore, Angel's Call (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Alexandra Egan, the winner, Devious Devan (IRE), ridden by Jack Dace and Bossy Parker (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Matthew Lloyd Slater.
A Senior rider was also present.
The interference was found to be accidental as Shielas Well (IRE) shifted left-handed at the same time as Al Baahy (GB) edged right-handed, causing Devious Devan (IRE), Bossy Parker (IRE) and Angel's Call (IRE) to become tight for room.
The winner, Devious Devan (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Yarmouth on 11 April 2026 where the gelding finished fourteenth of fourteen runners beaten 53 lengths.
It was noted that the representative of William Muir & Chris Grassick could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Devious Devan (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Matthew Lloyd Slater reported that Bossy Parker (IRE), placed fourth, suffered interference shortly after the start.
Alexandra Egan reported that Angel's Call (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference shortly after the start.
