The Starter reported that Lady Of The Garr (IRE) was unruly and broke out of the stalls and was withdrawn at 2.
28pm.
Tracey Waggott was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Leaving the stalls, Yiengaa (GB), placed fourth, jumped right-handed bumping Wichahpi (GB), placed second, which in turn interfered with Big Blue Boy (IRE), unplaced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Yiengaa (GB).
Leaving the stalls, Wichahpi (GB), lost its cheekpiece.
The Stewards inspected the cheekpiece, being satisfied it was in a serviceable condition prior to the race, they took no further action.
The Stewards wished to hold an enquiry into ‘riding to the draw’ involving Drinkable (GB), unplaced, ridden by Sean Kirrane, but were unable to do so as Kirrane had left the course.
They adjourned their enquiry to a date to be confirmed.
An enquiry was held, adjourned from Catterick Bridge on 03 April 2024 into Sean Kirrane, the rider of Drinkable (GB), drawn 6, had appeared not to keep straight from the stalls.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the rider was suspended for 1 day.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Wichahpi (GB), placed fourth, lost its right fore shoe.
