Permission was given for Supreme King (IRE) to go early to post for Thunder Blue (GB), Monsieur Fudge (GB), and Billyb (FR) to all wear a red hood to the start and Probe (GB) to go early and be led to post.
The Starter reported that Boardman (GB) refused to enter the stalls and was withdrawn at 4:46pm.
Tim Easterby was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
Intervention (GB), drawn 2, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started causing the gelding to be slowly away.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Spirit Genie (IRE), unplaced, shifted quickly left-handed resulting in Billyb (FR), unplaced, becoming briefly short of room and its rider to have to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out when Koy Koy (GB), unplaced, ridden by Billy Loughnane, interfered with Intervention (GB), unplaced, ridden by Alistair Rawlinson.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Koy Koy (GB) hung quickly left-handed despite Loughnane’s best efforts to correct the gelding causing Intervention (GB) to become short of room on the rail and for Rawlinson to have to take back.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Farasi Lane (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and Billy Loughnane reported that Koy Koy (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and hung left-handed.
Alistair Rawlinson reported that Intervention (GB), unplaced, anticipated the start and was slowly away as a result.
