Formscan By Alan Magee - FINNTHEMAGICIAN made a promising start in bumpers when third at Ballinrobe and got on top close home to score at Perth earlier this month. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding is an interesting recruit to hurdles. Champella has a very similar profile having also recorded a bumper win from three starts. That victory came at this venue in June and it will be interesting to monitor the relative strength of the pair in the market. Ace Aussie is another to note on his hurdling debut. He won on the Flat for Jessica Harrington and was Group 3 placed last year but has been generally disappointing since and changed hands for 22,000 guineas last month. Evenwood Sonofagun appears the pick of those with hurdle experience and has been placed a number of times this year.
