Formscan By Gary Carson - THUNDER AND ROSES can atone for defeat on his hurdling debut at Cork. He was sent off odds-on then having been very impressive when taking his bumper at Naas previously. The horse that beat him is not a bad type though and had some strong placed form previously. The pair pulled well clear and it was not a bad effort on his hurdling debut. He has won a point-to-point but racing over timber is a different discipline and with that run under his belt he should prove hard to beat now. Mala Beach showed much more at Fairyhouse last time when staying on in third and should appreciate this step up in trip now. The story of that race was the eclipse of Ned Buntline and although that rival was obviously below his best then it was still a good effort to get so close to him as he looks a threat. Shamar has been sent off favourite for both his starts since arriving in Ireland but hasn't looked any world beater. He looks to have place prospects. Two point-to-point winners to note are Foxrock and Sizing Solution while Talbot Road was fancied on his track debut in a Fairyhouse bumper and showed enough to suggest he has a nice future.
