Formscan By Tom Weekes - BRUSSELS failed to make the grade in Newmarket’s hot July Stakes but drops to Listed level. A promising Curragh debut winner where he defeated three subsequent maiden winners, he was outclassed at Newmarket but that was a Group 2 contest and the first two finishers respectively filled first and third-places in Goodwood’s subsequent Vintage Stakes. Chesham Stakes runner-up Thesecretadversary was over-turned as 2/13 favourite behind a newcomer at Ayr last month, which is a concern. Although he will appreciate today’s likely faster ground, his Royal Ascot-form took a knock as winner Humidity finished seventh in the aforementioned Vintage Stakes. Maximum Scepticism should struggle to turn placings with the selection on Curragh form.
