The Milan gelding had his jumping issues late last year but looks on a competitive mark in this if he can overcome that. He was a staying on second on his first outing for Gordon Elliott at Down Royal in November and was a well-backed favourite when last seen at Navan in mid-December. Promontory was no match for Rokathir at Navan last month but it was a nice run in second and off only a pound higher he could play a big role. So They Tell Me and Gringo D’aubrelle, who were third and fourth at Navan, are others that have to be considered.

We blow hot and cold in the yard but when we are outside the yard we are the best of friends. If you go back to his novice days, he had good form and it was a good performance today, so I’m absolutely delighted with that. He's a real three-miler, he looked to be going as quick as he could but stays very well. He was racing from (4lb) out of the handicap so we claimed off him for that reason. Michael rides out a morning-a-week with us so from a light weight, it was a no-brainer to use him. We'll talk to Noel and Valerie and see about plans, but it was a great pot to win. When we saw the entries, we said we'd run if Danny was happy to ride him. Danny rang me the other day and walked the track and said he'd like to ride him. I have to thank him for this. JJ (Slevin) and Danny both said he should do well over fences. Danny walked this on Wednesday and told me the ground was lovely, in Mallow it was too quick for him. He needs three miles but we were quite happy with that. He'll handle a good bit softer than this. Jumping is a big strong point with him. He's a funny little horse, Danny pulled out wide as I don't think he likes being bullied inside in a big bunch. We had a cute man riding him. Have you ever seen a jockey to keep improving so much?
