Formscan By Alan Magee - This appears a fairly modest maiden hurdle for the venue and CARRAREA may have found a good opportunity to open his jumps account. The Emmet Mullins-trained gelding won a 16-runner newcomers’ bumper at the Punchestown Festival and followed up in a winners’ race at Roscommon. The four-year-old has been expensive to follow in two subsequent hurdle starts including a novice event at the Galway Festival but, with the benefit of that experience under his belt, is taken to score here. Noble Birth has shown promise in bumpers both for Charles O’Brien and Gordon Elliott and may prove the chief threat. Choice Of Mine is also making his hurdle debut but the all-weather winner has come nowhere near running up to a Flat rating in the 90’s in two outings this year.
