Formscan By Michael Graham - Irish Cambridgeshire winner Jassaar has prospects of defying a 7lb rise here. He travelled well at the Curragh, before coming home best, and has the benefit of Andrew Slattery's 5lb claim again. Slattery has an excellent record when teaming up with Dermot Weld. In addition, Jassaar holds a Group 3 entry at Tipperary next month. However, slight preference is for VIADERA at almost double the odds of Jassaar at the time of writing. On her penultimate start, she landed a Listed race in Killarney and the form looks solid as the runner-up, Lady Wannabe, came out and took Listed glory in Killarney on her next start. Viadera also beat Lady Wannabe in a 50,000 euro handicap at the Curragh in May. It may have been cut in the ground that caught Viadera out when she was last seen coming home eighth in a Group 3 at the Curragh. She hasn't been at her best the three times she has encountered rain-softened ground. She holds a couple of Group 3 entries and has a lovely draw in stall one. Bopedro is unexposed after winning in Cork on debut and then finishing third during the week at Listowel. It is interesting that Jim Bolger pitches him into this company now (in first-time cheekpieces). Current Option was second to Jassaar in the Curragh and also second to Bopedro in Cork. He should be in the hunt for a cheque. Ice Cold In Alex has been putting in some good shifts, in big fields recently, such as when third in the Scurry and fourth in the Irish Cambridgeshire. He appears likely to pick up a good pot sooner rather than later and is certainly one for each-way players to scrutinise. At bigger prices, Black Magic Woman isn't out of it. She has had a busy summer but has been running well in good company.
