Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - On his second start for Gavin Cromwell GLOBAL RACING might be able to follow up on his Punchestown success over this distance on January 14th. There the Hard Spun gelding raced in eighth early, and he gave his many backers a fright with a mistake at the sixth. Closer in fifth from the next, Global Racing made a slight mistake at the eighth. On terms then travelling smoothly two out where he made another slight mistake, the selection led before the straight. Soon asserting the Cromwell runner was ridden out and stayed on well on the run-in. He had a reduced lead but was always holding on close home to gain the day by a length and a half from Cher Why Not (in opposition again and has his chance). The chestnut could go in again, despite a nine pound higher mark. Up to three miles Eight And Bob is the obvious alternative, whilst Goodnightngodbless and Apocalypse are respected too.
