Formscan By Alan Magee - Charles Byrnes deserves plenty of plaudits for bringing back SOLWHIT in top form after a length lay-off last term to land the big staying hurdles at both Cheltenham and Aintree. The French-bred was not far off the great Hurricane Fly, giving him a fright on a number of occasions, before injury intervened a few years ago and it is testament to Byrnes’ skill that the gelding is now officially on a career high mark. While he's unlikely to be fully tuned up for this reappearance, he may still be good enough to overcome the likes of Zaidpour. Willie Mullins’ charge had the disappointing Rule The World well behind when runner-up to Jezki in the Hatton’s Grace at Fairyhouse and, with the benefit of that run, should at least make it interesting here. Gordon Elliott has his string in great shape this week, and Mala Beach is no forlorn hope with the possibility that this step up in trip will bring about further improvement.
