Going - Hurdle/Bumper: Good to yielding. Chase: Good to yielding, yielding in places. Fine

Formscan By Alan Magee - ARCADIAN EMPEROR (1) was held in good regard over hurdles last season and made all on his latest start at Clonmel in April. The point-to-point winner is likely to do better over fences and gets the vote over Forty Coats who also won between the flags. The son of Diamond Boy failed to score over hurdles but put up some notable efforts including when fourth behind The New Lion in the Turners Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham last year. I Started A Joke was placed over a variety of trips at all the main Irish Festival meetings earlier this year including a Grade 1 at Punchestown and it will be interesting to see how strong he is in the market on chasing debut.

Quotes on Champagne Jury (IRE)

He’s a fine big horse and got through that ground well. He looks a big chaser in the making. We don’t have him that long, about six or eight weeks, and he should progress again. I’m not sure what we’ll do with him now, and going for a maiden hurdle might not be the worst idea as he can go chasing sooner rather than later.

Quotes on Daydream Nation (IRE)

I was really happy with him. I wasn’t too sure what to expect as he disappointed us a bit in Thurles the last day. He got a bit worked up before the race last time, but was very relaxed here today. It was his first handicap, I thought it was a big ask, but he went through the race very well and was very professional.

Quotes on I Started A Joke (IRE)

He did well in a schooling race in Tipperary a couple of weeks ago and we always thought he was a nice horse. Jack Bennett had done all the early work and point-to-pointed him, and then we got him. The point-to-point in which he finished fourth has worked out very well and there are a lot of winners from the race. He is a fine horse and is definitely one for the future. I'd say we'll stay in bumpers for now.

Quotes on Mullaghgloss (IRE)

The only thing I was worried about was the two miles, as he wants 2m4f or three. Adam jumped out and kept it simple and the horse jumps well. For a Walk In The Park, he only cost E13,000 at the Landrover Sale and he has now won a bumper and maiden hurdle. He's not a bad horse to have. If he had been beaten today we were thinking about leaving him until next summer but we'll look for a rated novice now. He goes on any ground. The owners have had Flat winners with me but this is their first jump horse. We'll have to get them another one.

Quotes on Siege Of Carthage (IRE)

he is a fine big horse, he was always nice since he was younger but just has had a few problems. They have nursed him back and he had a lovely run in a bumper in Gowran the last day, where Aine Connolly gave him a beautiful ride and said he’d come on a lot from it. He had run in a point-to-point (in 2024) and had a lot of schooling done so we were hoping he’d run a good race. I’m not sure what they’ll do now as Josh is a seller but he’ll have no problem jumping fences too.

Quotes on Sir Allen (GB)

I thought he would need the run today and then somewhere in three weeks. He's a good horse, he should have won a Boodles. That was the worst day of my racing life the day he ran in Cheltenham in the Boodles. He got a leg injury, and he was off for a year and a-half. I didn't see that coming. Loves that ground and he's a good horse. He'll go over fences too during the summer.
