We were a little bit disappointed with him the last time in the Goffs Million. There were 30 runners and he was in (the stalls) a long time and missed the kick. You could put a line through the first half of the race, but he finished well. I thought dropping him back to six here, because he ran well here before, and put the cheekpieces on him. Ben said he pinged the gates and travelled really well. He got a bit lonely in front but he always felt like he was holding them going to the line. We gelded him, brought him back for the Ballyhane race and the last day we made a mistake by putting blinkers on and he did way too much. Today is more like what we have been seeing. She was fit from her all-weather runs and we didn’t do a whole pile with her,. We weren’t sure about the very deep ground but Billy said she travelled everywhere. When he needed her there was a bit of fight in her as well and she went to the line well. David Kelly is always watching for an opportunity and he saw this filly in an online sale. He bought her and fair play to him as he picked her out. She’s been straightforward since she came. We’ll find something similar in the next few weeks, those three-year-old only races are good when you find them. She obviously copes with the soft ground and she did everything right there. We’ll just keep her happy, she doesn’t seem to need much work. I don’t think she liked Dundalk. On the best of her turf form, off 72, she was hopefully going to be competitive and she has been,. She didn’t win by much, there were three of them there in a good tussle, so hopefully the handicapper gives her a chance going forward. It’s important, if you can, to get a winner early on. She was drawn on the wrong side in the Curragh, but she did run well. Her work has been good all along and improving all the time. She went off favourite in the Curragh because we fancied her, I suppose. I think there is still plenty of scope for improvement. She was a bit green there and got there plenty soon enough and rolled around plenty. I think in a better race she could be better again. She's one of those ones that just keeps improving week on week. Hopefully, she will keep doing it. She will be for sale and whether that means she leaves the yard or goes away, I'm not sure. She is a nice filly that we would love to have for next year.
