Formscan By Alan Magee - A typically competitive renewal of an historic staying handicap and, with Notre Pere the only winner over the last 13 years to carry over 10st9lb, perhaps it’s best to look towards the bottom end of the weight scale. GLENQUEST beat all bar Jack The Bus in this race two years ago but has been sidelined until returning over hurdles in recent months. He will appreciate the step back up to this trip, and presumably connections have been targeting this prize again. Faltering Fullback has gone up a stone for winning the Kerry National, and may struggle to confirm Listowel placings with Start Me Up, who also made the frame in the Munster National at Limerick. The Hard Hat and Zardsky are other light-weights that appeal, while Ruby Walsh is an interesting booking aboard Romanesco. He’s progressed well this year, although his jumping can give some cause for concern.
