Dessie Hughes said of him in an Irish Field stable tour last October: "He has won a Grade 1 and a Grade A chase for us and he was unlucky in the Aintree National last April when he was brought down by a jockey. It happened at the fifth fence but he had been jumping beautifully and enjoying himself. He'll head back to Liverpool and he'll have the same kind of preparation as last year. We'll start him off in the Bobbyjo. He is the right age for the race and is one to look forward to." The market will guide with Rare Bob but he is attractively weighted in this sphere and he has more class than any of his rivals.
