On that occasion Darragh O’Keeffe reported that his mount was involved in an incident after the third last hurdle and was found to have lost a hind shoe and to be possibly lame behind. O’Keeffe pulled Shumaker up before two out then. Before that the course and distance winner had been in a rich vein of form, with a hat-trick, and a third placing in a Grade B handicap hurdle at Down Royal. With Charlie Hills and Nicky Henderson in the past, Heatstroke starts off here for Michael Cleary. This won’t be easy for him off a 244 day break.
