Formscan By John O'Riordan - Well suited by the conditions of this race, the Noel Meade trained LAYFAYETTE can record a tenth career success. Although not the force of old, the eight-year-old has yet to encounter his favoured soft ground this season. Runner-up in a Group 3 race here back in June, the son of French Navy showed that he still had plenty racing left in him. Receiving weight from his main rivals and, with Finny Maguire in the saddle, there is much to recommend. Twice a winner in Britain earlier in the season, Small Fry arguably didn't stay when only ninth in the Irish Cesarewitch on his stable debut. Dropped in class, Mont St Michel has to be given maximum respect for Aidan O'Brien.
