Formscan By Gary Carson - MIDNIGHT OUR FRED looks capable of striking over hurdles off this kind of rating. The nine-year-old ran off a 20lb higher mark over fences on his last outing. On his last appearance over timber, at Cork in November, he ran well when chasing home West Cork Wildway, who was himself making use of a lower hurdles mark then. Lonesome Boatman is another running off a lower rating in this discipline. The Cork National winner was outclassed in graded company on his last start but could be a big player now with Darragh Allen taking 7lb off. Pebble Bleu is back in handicap company after failing to make an impression in a Grade 3 last time. She is another to consider.%0A%0A
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (120 = 11st 12lbs)Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.

Quotes on Daydream Nation (IRE)
We really liked him and with the race cutting up since declarations, we were confident. He was impressive in his point to point for Colin Bowe and Rory Breen, who is now involved in him, picked him out. There are a good group involved, including my mam. We'll see what the programme says although he wants nice ground and has the option of running in the UK.After Daydream Nation (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Sat, 4th Oct 2025 2m 4f Maiden Hurdle Yielding

Quotes on Pebble Bleu (IRE)
I thought it might come too soon after running such a good race in Thurles last Thursday, but she came out of it bouncing and she just seems to be improving with age. She likes to get on with it. She has a high cruising speed, and she loves what she’s doing. Mike gets on great with her. He’s riding out of his skin at the moment and he’s great. I’m delighted for John and Sharon (Flavin), who have been big supporters of my yard. They have trusted me with this mare and thankfully I’m paying them back now. John wants to cover her as she’s a valuable broodmare now; she’s got a great pedigree. We’ll tip away and we might find another race for her over fences maybe. After Pebble Bleu (IRE) finished 1st at Punchestown on Wed, 4th Feb 2026 2m 7f Hcap Hurdle Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Midnight Our Fred (IRE)
I thought the trip was short but once I saw the withdrawals, knew the race had half-fallen apart. He loves that ground and it takes a fair one to jump with him as he is an unbelievable jumper. He is better going left-handed and we're going back to Cheltenham in three weeks' time. He had been eligible for an amateur riders' chase that day but has won too far today, although I think Danny did that on purpose, to keep the ride! He might now get in off bottom weight in the 3m1f William Hill Handicap Chase. I have 20 horses for the track this winter, have between 10 and 12 for point-to-points and buying and selling is all part of my job. After Midnight Our Fred (IRE) finished 1st at Gowran Park on Sat, 5th Oct 2024 2m 4f Hcap Chase Good

Quotes on Kingkong Ciergues (FR)
I’m thrilled, and the horse deserved that more than anything. He’d run some fabulous races in defeat and the experience Tiernan got from riding him here the last day stood us in good stead for today. He just got there too soon the last day and it’s a very long straight. He gave him a super ride today. Even though we are doing well in the William Hill Series, that is our first winner in it so it’s nice to get that. The prize money in the series is great for the yard, the stable staff, the jockey and most of all for the trainer! The poor old trainer never gets a bob!. It’s a great incentive for everybody and fantastic that William Hill have got behind it. There are so many new initiatives being brought forward and the trainers' association had a part to play in the William Hill Series. I really think we need to distribute prize money a bit better and some of the money from the higher-tier races could be filtered down to the lower-tier races to encourage people that a horse can pay his way through the year. After Kingkong Ciergues (FR) finished 1st at Fairyhouse on Fri, 21st Nov 2025 3m Hcap Hurdle Heavy

Quotes on Plain Or Battered (IRE)
That's Conor's fifth winner. He started with me just over a year ago and started with no experience. For the chances he is getting his strike rate has been extremely good. He is good value for his claim and this horse is an ideal one for him to ride as he has plenty of experience,. I got him off the Dooly's and Noel is still involved with him. The Dooly's are fabulous people and they gave me the opportunity to buy three horses and I'm really pleased to have them. They are great friends and are lovely people, so I can't say enough thanks to Noel and Jenny Dooly, they are very good to me. He is a winter horse and we have winter ground today. I believe it's summer heavy today and so did Paul Townend and a lot of the senior jockeys, yet the board inside still says soft, yielding in places. The same clerk of the course (Paul Moloney) gave good to yielding in Kilbeggan last night, whereas all the senior jockeys said good, no yielding. There is a huge discrepancies. How are they seeing it as slower than the riders last night and quicker than the riders today. The discrepancy is too big and it doesn't make sense. I'm delighted because my horse is a winter horse and he got heavy ground today. Liz Doyle told me this morning it would be proper soft and she was right. He'll probably get a break now and come back in the winter to go over fences. After Plain Or Battered (IRE) finished 1st at Wexford on Sat, 18th May 2024 3m Hcap Hurdle Soft
