THE EBF NOVICE STAKES (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) Permission was given for Al Hudaiba (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Shortly after leaving the stalls, Jiro (GB), unplaced, shifted quickly left-handed giving a bump to Rocket Boots (GB), placed fourth, carrying it off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Inside the final furlong, the winner, Al Hudaiba (GB), hung left-handed, despite the rider's best efforts to correct his mount, taking Mrair (IRE), placed second, slightly off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Al Hudaiba (GB).
Following the race, John Egan reported that Jiro (GB), unplaced, hung badly left-handed.
