We changed up tactics with her today, we took our time in a small field and I think she really enjoyed not being in a big field handicap and the hustle and bustle of it. She got things her own way. She doesn't quite see out the two miles. That was a perfect trip for her. It is lovely to get her head back in front. She didn't take to hurdles and she just took a while to get her mind back around. S. Foley, rider of La Vita Nova, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran around a little bit in the straight
G.F. Carroll, rider of Heather, trained by G.M.Lyons, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got her ground taken after a furlong and was pushed in towards the rail
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving La Vita Nova, ridden by S. Foley, placed third, Heather, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed second, and Ina Mina (GB), ridden by W. Joyce, placed fourth, where it appeared Ina Mina drifted towards the rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned
G.F. Carroll stated that he shouted at W. Joyce numerous times and got pushed towards the rail. S. Foley stated that he wasn't involved in the incident. W. Joyce stated that he was trying to get cover but accepted that he heard G.F
Carroll shout and still moved in towards the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found W. Joyce was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays
