Something Noble springs 50/1 surprise at Killarney
That wasn't really a surprise as we think this (hurdling) is his future but obviously with Joseph (O'Brien) and the other lads having a great record on these races and those horses also had a previous hurdle run. We were thrilled with him at home and if he had run a nice race today, we'd have been happy but to win is great. I'm very impressed with Eoin today as he gave him a super ride. He was bought with this job in mind, he has loads of scope and he will also do the Flat job too. He wants it on the softer side but he is immature, so we'll give him time. My horses are in great form and I'm thrilled with them. They're coming right at the right time.
Neon Diamond sparkles under Kennedy
She had a couple of good runs but has been disappointing to be honest. It worked out today and it is great for Liam Clancy, her owner, who owns the Abbey Hotel and sponsors Donegal football. They have a big week ahead next week and it is a pity he couldn't be here today although his sisters are here, which is great.
Glory for the Gainfords as Greatness triumphs at Killarney
Jordan gave him a great ride, the horse has been a good buy since we got him and it was a good pot (E11,800) to win today. We changed things up with him, stepped him up in distance and changed the way we ride him so he seems to be enjoying it. His English owner ran me and we bought him privately and Jordan’s (Gainford) parents now own him, so this is great. This is their first horse, they’re here today so they’re delighted. We’ll keep him busy for the summer and he is in over fences at Wexford on Wednesday so could run.
Dreal Deal back to winning ways on debut for Rothwell
That is a massive surprise and that's my first run with him. I saw he was in a claimer in Sligo last month for E15,000 and I bought into him myself privately after the race. I knew some of the lads involved and they asked me would I like to buy a share in him and to train him. we've changed things around, he is living in a paddock on his own and we've done a lot of different little things with him. I was hoping for a confidence-building run so it was far from expected, but I think we can build on it. I have him six weeks, we haven't worked him hard and he is a lovely horse. He is a famous horse and was a very cheap horse to buy into. I just thought his run at Aintree (in April) was very good, he looked like he had problems on his two later runs but, for me, he looked an obvious horse to have a go with. I love these older horses, the owners were great to give me a go and it is a great prize to win.
Nurburgring wins Novice Chase en route to Galway
Third consecutive win for on-song Tippin And Tappin
he is a big horse for around here but this is a course some jockeys are very good around, and Darragh excels here. A friend of mine Paul Leonard had this horse in his early days and Luke McMahon, his son Aubrey and their friends are involved in him now. Aubrey previously rode out for me and rode Josies Orders (Cheltenham festival winner) in point-to-points.
Smallcraftwarning gets off the mark over fences at Killarney
I should have had a double as I was frustrated by Gaelic Arc's ride and Zolpharine was also a bit unlucky. This horse is what he is but he did a job today. There is every kind of a breed involved in this syndicate - there are accountants, farmers and every kind, and they're all young. They are a real breath of fresh air around my place and Aidan O'Sullivan and Jack Broderick are two right good guys who head the syndicate.
Lemon Zest another Killarney winner for John Joseph Murphy
She had been green the first day and was still babyish today but it was a good effort. Harry thought she'd come on again from the run and he said she will be nice when she goes up in trip over hurdles. I was quite impressed with her. It's been a good week, that's our third winner and all the horses ran very well. It is a great place to come and I've been coming down here since I was small with dad and Andrew McNamara senior, and we've always loved the place.
