Sir Alfie is a nice horse, we always liked him and he showed plenty of speed. He was plenty green the first time out but that run was put to good use and it just shows you what we are coming up against in Ireland. He finished fourth of four against a very, very good horse then, so I don't know why people didn't see that today. Leigh was very impressed, he said the runner-up came to him and he put his head down. The way he ran out, he will get further and is a nice horse going forward. He has improved with every week and will improve again. It is beautiful ground and compliments to Brian Hamilton (clerk of the course) and his team.
Easy win for Aurora Nova
she's a good, genuine filly who is too hard on herself on occasions and can work herself up, but is very honest. She's not great to break and the last day up the Curragh there was about 23 runners and she broke last but was only beaten two lengths. She didn't break too badly today and I'd say small fields probably suit her as well. She picked the right day to win as it was a good pot (€14,400 first prize) and we’ll definitely keep her going over the summer. She has won well there, so I'd imagine she will get a nice few pounds for that, so she might be a bit hard to place. The way she won there, we could chance getting black-type with her: that might be aiming a little high, but we might give it a go.

Sixth win for Summer Snow
I was just a bit worried about the draw (in 8). That's her second win for me now and we'll see what the handicapper gives us. I'd say we will still be in the 70s and I might look at Derby weekend, where there's a 0-80 for her. We'll see how she comes out of this.
Apprentice Clarke has claim reduced following third success
that The Bog Bank’s seventh win, she’s had four in Bellewstown, two in Dundalk and now one up here. She's a great oul’ mare, goes up in the handicap and then when she comes back to a level again, seems to find her old form. She's a very honest mare. I thought the last day, over 1m1f, all she was doing was staying on in Gowran Park but the mile in Bellewstown was the shortest she had ever won over. I was worried that an easy seven (furlongs) here would catch her out so I toyed with the idea of not running, but she was balloted out of Limerick tomorrow. There's a 0-70 handicap for her in Bellewstown now; there's plenty of meetings in Bellewstown between now and the end of the year.
