Permission was given for Water Of Leith (IRE) to go to post early and for Circus Lion (GB) to wear a red hood to post whilst being mounted in the chute.
Inside the final furlong, Nelson Gay (IRE), unplaced, shifted left-handed which tightened the winner, Herakles (IRE), at the same as Circus Lion (GB), placed second, shifted right-handed, which caused Keldeo (GB), unplaced, to be crowded for room and have to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Circus Lion (GB).
Following the race, Kaiya Fraser reported that Too Much (GB), unplaced, was restless in the stalls and had moved his head sideways, resulting in difficulty removing the blind on the first attempt, when the stalls opened.
