Permission was given for Thapa VC (IRE) to go early to post; the gelding wore earplugs which were removed at the start and permission was also given for Riot (IRE), Diligent Henry (GB) and Finbar's Lad (GB) to each wear a red hood to post.
Diligent Henry (GB), drawn 7, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving the winner, Beattie Is Back (GB), ridden by Jack Garritty, Diligent Henry (GB), unplaced, ridden by Duran Fentiman and Riot (IRE), placed second, ridden by Daniel Tudhope.
There were two separate incidents of interference.
In the first incident, the interference was found to be accidental as Beattie Is Back (GB) switched quickly left- handed away from the heels of Grace Taufan (GB), unplaced, which had moved marginally left-handed, resulting in the weakening Diligent Henry (GB), becoming tight for room.
In the second incident, Garritty was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift left-handed, giving a bump to Riot (IRE) and taking that runner off its intended racing line.
