that was a class ride and was as good a ride as I have seen Leigh give one - it was perfect. He just got up on the line, what more can you say. It wasn't a straightforward race and it was a messy. Kearney, placed third and Wandering Rocks (GB), ridden by J.A. Orr, unplaced, where it appeared slight contact was made. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted

R.J. Lane, rider of Nakasero, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was running keen and hanging left, which resulted in him hitting the rail, becoming unbalanced for a stride.
