THE TRACK RADIO ON DIGITAL & DAB APPRENTICE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) The Clerk of the Scales objected to Somkiyr (FR), unplaced, ridden by Ben Ffrench Davis, and trained by Andy Irvine on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 8 st 8 ½ lbs having weighed out at 10 st 0 lbs.
Ffrench-Davis, the representative of Irvine and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
Having reviewed video recordings of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that the weight discrepancy was due to the weight cloth falling off just inside the final furlong.
Somkiyr (FR) was disqualified.
Following the race, Mason Paetel reported that Look Back Smiling (IRE), placed fourth, hung right- handed inside the final furlong.
