THE ANTHONY WOODS ELECTRICAL LIGHTNING BOLT HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 4) (GBB RACE) An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the back straight involving Choose A Copper (IRE), which later unseated its rider, ridden by Patrick Wadge, Flash Du Pistolet (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sean Quinlan, and the winner, Kicksaftersix (IRE), ridden by Ryan Mania.
The interference was found to be accidental in that as the runners approached the bend leaving the end of the back straight, Kicksaftersix (IRE) who was following both Flash Du Pistolet (IRE) and Choose A Copper (IRE), was found in a gap which would inevitably close due to the rail alignment and in doing so, Mania found his mount had made contact with the rail and become momentarily unbalanced.
Entering the final bend, Flash Du Pistolet (IRE), placed second, edged right-handed carrying the winner, Kicksaftersix (IRE), onto a weakening Rock On Jet (IRE), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any runner.
