THE BJLLEWELLYN RACING IN MEMORY OF GWILYM LLEWELLYN AMATEUR JOCKEYS' HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) (DIV II) An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the bend leaving the back straight, involving Little She (FR), placed second, ridden by Miss Alice Tregoning and Change Of Fortune (GB), unplaced, ridden by Miss Jessica Llewellyn.
The interference was found to be accidental as Little She (FR) lugged marginally left-handed rounding the bend when improving to the outside of Change Of Fortune (GB), which resulted in that gelding becoming momentarily short for room and being unbalanced as a consequence.
Mr Fletcher Yarham, the rider of Man Is King (IRE), placed fifth, beaten by a short head, had appeared to stop riding and drop his hands shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Yarham was suspended for 2 days on days to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for failing to take all reasonable and permissible measures to obtain the best possible placing on a horse that could have finished fourth.
