THE ECA 125TH YEAR ANNIVERSARY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Saliko (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final half-furlong involving the winner, Super Hit (FR), ridden by Rossa Ryan, Grey Fox (IRE), placed second, ridden by David Probert, Fast Steps (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Oisin Murphy, My O My (FR), placed fifth, ridden by Olivia Tubb, Sansanetti (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Pat Cosgrave, and Thiscouldbefun (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Taylor Fisher.
Billy Loughnane, the rider of Danehill Star (IRE), placed third, was also interviewed but found to be not involved.
The interference was found to be accidental as Super Hit (FR), having established a run between Grey Fox (IRE) and Fast Steps (IRE), hung right-handed despite the rider's best efforts, at the same time as My O My (FR) and Sansanetti (IRE) shifted slightly left-handed which resulted in the riders of Fast Steps (IRE) and Thiscouldbefun (IRE) becoming short for room and having to take a check.
On the run to the line, the rider of Sansanetti (IRE), placed fourth, steadied his mount when awkwardly placed between Danehill Star (IRE), placed third, and the winner, Super Hit (FR), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Danehill Star (IRE) or Super Hit (FR).
Following the race, Saffie Osborne reported that Saliko (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
