Sam Ewing, rider of Sporting Glory, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake
The Raceday Stewards received a report from the I.H.R.B. Veterinary Officer, Dr. Graham Adams, that D.J Gilligan, rider of Wingmen, may be in breach of Regulation 10.3(f)(the hitting of a horse with excessive force)
Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who felt he had not used the whip with excessive force. Evidence was also heard from Dr. Adams. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards gave D.J. Gilligan the benefit of doubt on this occasion and took no further action.
