Permission was given for Boubyan (IRE) to go early to post; for Tempus (GB) to go early to post, wearing a red hood; and for Show Biz Kid (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.
Triple Force (GB) made contact with the plastic rail in the chute.
Having been checked by the Veterinary Surgeon at the start, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
Approaching 2 furlongs out, the rider of I Still Have Faith (GB), placed second, switched left-handed to avoid running onto heels, and in doing so made contact with Tempus (GB), unplaced, which then turned the quarters of Wondrous Light (GB), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of I Still Have Faith (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong, involving I Still Have Faith (GB), placed second, ridden by Mr Paul Hainey, Charming Whisper (GB), unplaced, ridden by Mr Fletcher Yarham and LE SCANDERBEIDE (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Mr Henry Callan.
Mr Hainey was suspended for 2 days on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for careless riding as he angled his mount right-handed for a run, shifting Charming Whisper (GB) and LE SCANDERBEIDE (IRE) off their intended lines.
