Restandbethankful (GB) wore earplugs throughout the race.
Exiting the final bend, Gavin (GB), placed second, hung right-handed as the winner, The Navigator (GB), stepped left-handed leaving Restandbethankful (GB), placed fourth, short of room between horses, becoming unbalanced as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Gavin (GB) or The Navigator (GB).
The winner, The Navigator (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Cartmel on 21 July 2025 where the gelding was pulled up in a field of nine runners.
Dianne Sayer’s explanation that The Navigator (GB) had settled better on this occasion off an even pace, was noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Aaron Anderson reported that Victory Club (IRE), unplaced, never travelled.
