The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Perisher, ridden by D
Browne McMonagle, placed fifth, and Port Of Spain, ridden by J. Cleary, placed third, where it appeared Port Of Spain had to check off heels and switch out. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Perisher hanging right despite the riders best efforts and that no further action was warranted
D. Browne McMonagle, rider of Perisher, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lugged right off the bridle
At the request of the Raceday Stewards, J. Cleary, rider of Port Of Spain, trained by A.P.O'Brien, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that ran short of room.
