An enquiry was held to consider interference exiting the back-straight involving, Northern Express (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Paul Mulrennan; Cerulean Bay (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Harry Davies and Rhoscolyn (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
The interference was found to be accidental as Cerulean Bay (IRE) had become unbalanced after having its hindquarters turned as a result of brief contact from Rhoscolyn (GB) on its inside, which resulted in Cerulean Bay (IRE) racing in restricted room inside the heels of Northern Express (IRE) which edged marginally left-handed, before Cerulean Bay (IRE) then shifted left-handed which resulted in Rhoscolyn (GB) being severely hampered against the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final half furlong involving, the winner, KING’S LYNN, ridden by P J McDonald; Jumby (IRE), placed third, ridden by Charles Bishop and Northern Express (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Paul Mulrennan.
McDonald was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed under a right-handed drive without timely correction crowding Jumby (IRE) for room, which in turn caused Northern Express (IRE) to be checked.
