George Boughey was fined £650 for doubly declaring Jungle Land (IRE) to run in the THE EACHWAY EXTRA AT bet365 HANDICAP STAKES at Haydock and the THE N & L FRANKLIN DEVELOPMENTS LTD HANDICAP STAKES at Nottingham, and the gelding ran in the latter.
Approaching five furlongs out, the free running Rock Opera (GB), placed third, shifted left-handed at the same time as Tiriac (GB), unplaced, drifted slightly right-handed coming off the crossing, resulting in Liosa (IRE), placed fourth, being buffeted for room and making heavy contact with Rock Opera (GB).
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Rock Opera (GB).
Following the race Alistair Rawlinson reported that Juan Les Pins (GB), placed fifth, was denied a clear run from two furlongs until the final furlong and Barry McHugh reported that Tiriac (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run for some distance approaching the final furlong.
