Having reviewed recordings of the false start, the Starters were satisfied that no riders should be reported for contravening the starting procedures.
After jumping the first hurdle the winner Honor Grey (IRE), had to be steadied when crowded for room between a free running Tiger Jet (IRE), placed fourth, which shifted right-handed and Riggs (IRE), placed sixth, which edged slightly left-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Rounding the first bend, after initially having been crossed by Riggs (IRE), placed sixth, a hard pulling Tiger Jet (IRE), placed fourth, improved back up the inside of that runner, in a tightly packed field which resulted in Hidden Heroics (FR), which was later pulled up, being badly tightened for room and in turn inconveniencing Willaston (IRE), placed fifth.
As a result the winner, Honor Grey (IRE), which was following had to be checked by its rider when running out of room between Tiger Jet (IRE) which had shifted right after becoming unbalanced in the initial interference and Glimpse Of Gala (GB), placed second, which had edged slightly left.
Ask A Honey Bee (IRE), placed third, was also carried very wide as a result of this interference, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Tiger Jet (IRE).
At the second hurdle, Thirtyfourstitches (IRE), which was later pulled up, made a bad mistake causing the rider to lose his left iron for some distance and hampered Isthebaropen (GB), which was later pulled up, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
At the third hurdle, Thirtyfourstitches (IRE), jumped sharply right-handed again hampering Isthebaropen (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
At the end of the back straight Hurricane Harvey (GB), which was later pulled up, edged slightly left- handed making contact with Riggs (IRE), placed sixth, causing that runner to bump Tiger Jet (IRE), placed fourth, on the hind quarters resulting in them both becoming unbalanced, before Riggs (IRE) then in turn shifted right-handed giving a significant bump to Hurricane Harvey (GB), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Jack Hogan reported that he had pulled Hurricane Harvey (GB) up, due to his saddle slipping.
