Approaching the furlong pole, Tattie Bogle (GB), placed third, shifted right-handed carrying Fistral Beach (IRE), unplaced, slightly off its intended line which in turn left Dumfries (GB), unplaced, slightly short of room, causing its jockey to switch left-handed, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Tattie Bogle (GB).
Following the race, James Sullivan reported that Dumfries (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run approaching the final furlong.
