Permission was given for Overnight Oats (GB) and Mr Trick (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Entering the home straight, Overnight Oats (GB), unplaced, lugged quickly right-handed impeding James Park Woods (IRE), unplaced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Masqool (IRE), ridden by Joe Leavy and Paradoxical (IRE), placed second, ridden by Kieran O’Neill, which was beaten by a nose margin.
After hearing evidence from both riders and viewing recordings of the incident, it was established that approaching the half furlong marker Masqool (IRE) had drifted left-handed and briefly moved Paradoxical (IRE) off its intended line.
Being unable to conclusively establish whether there was ever any contact between the two runners, due to heavy fog compromising the quality of the integrity camera coverage, the Stewards bearing in mind the minimal nature of the incident and where it occurred, were unable to be satisfied that but for the interference Paradoxical (IRE) would have finished in front of Masqool (IRE) and accordingly ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
Leavy was cautioned for careless riding as he had been slow to correct Masqool (IRE) from drifting left-handed, which caused Paradoxical (IRE) to be briefly intimidated off its intended line.
It was further noted that right on the finish line Paradoxical (IRE) edged slightly right- handed and made contact with Masqool (IRE).
Following the race, Ryan Kavanagh reported that Mr Trick (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
