An enquiry was held to consider interference which occurred over a considerable distance in the back straight involving the winner, Piperstown (IRE), ridden by Rossa Ryan and Hi Hoh Tonto (GB), unplaced, ridden by Finley Marsh.
The interference was found to be accidental as Marsh had been unable to prevent a hard pulling Hi Hoh Tonto (GB) initially improving through down the inside of Piperstown (IRE), which had been drawn in stall 1 and thereafter Hi Hoh Tonto (GB) was effectively out of control and unresponsive to Marsh’s efforts to restrain the gelding, which left him very awkwardly placed inside the heels of Piperstown, before ultimately Marsh had to check his mount at the end of the back straight when Piperstown (IRE) eventually edged slightly left-handed.
