The winner, SAM’S HOPE, appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 18 December 2025 where the mare finished fifth of nine runners, beaten by 6¾ lengths.
It was noted that Martin Dunne could offer no explanation for SAM’S HOPE’s improved form other than the mare may have benefited from being ridden with more restraint on this occasion.
SAM’S HOPE was routine tested.
Following the race, Harry Vigors reported that Beaumadier (IRE), unplaced, reared leaving the stalls and was slowly away as a result.
